We want to give a massive shout out to Randolph Southern Elementary for providing care packages for every student here at Willard. On top of that, they spent lots of time and effort personalizing each bag with some very heart felt messages for our students. What an amazing gesture!? Congratulations to our County Spelling Bee participants. They were excellent representatives of our school, their families, and themselves! Conner and Dylan finished in the top 7 beating out many middle school participants. Conner Oakerson was also recognized as the 5th grade champion!

The Willard Robotics team rocked it this weekend at Jay County! This year we added in a 4th grade team and now have 2 teams competing at each event. The Warriorbots made amazing improvements from their first event in December. Please see below for their results and some pictures:
4th grade:
Qualifying rounds: finished 6th
Finals: finished 6th
5th grade:
Qualifying round: finished 8th
Finals: Tied for 2nd place! (1st place only beat them by 1 point!)

Brantley is our "Caught Card" winner from last week. Brantley was caught being awesome by Mrs. Osgood. Here is what Mrs. Osgood had to say. "When going over homework from the previous day, Brantley asked to go to the hallway so he wouldn't hear the answers because he was absent and hadn't done the homework yet." Talk about some amazing integrity!! Brantley won a free DQ Blizzard. Thanks again DQ for donating to our Caught Card program. Brantley, we truly appreciate your willingness to do the right thing! We are proud of you!

Two weeks ago, we pulled 2 caught card winners since we missed the Friday before due to a snow day. Our first winner was Eelynn! She was caught being awesome by Mrs. Brandenburg. Eelynn took it upon herself to help organize the recess equipment. Thank you Eelynn for taking pride in our school and keeping our indoor recess equipment in great working order! She won a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Enjoy your pizza Eelynn and thanks again to Pizza Hut for their donation to this program!
Up next is MattieGrace. MattieGrace was caught being awesome by Mrs. Johns. "MattieGrace overheard a student talking about how busy their evening was going to be and volunteered to give them a homework pass she had earned to help lighten their load!" What an awesome act of kindness! MattieGrace won a gift certificate to El Carreton. Thanks again to El Carreton for their donation and continued support of our school. This week wrapped our caught card winners for the 1st semester of school. We had 2 "big" drawings this week! Our first drawing was for a 2nd quarter prize. The other drawing was for the 1st semester prize (we added all the caught cards from quarter 1 back into the bin).
Caroline is your 2nd quarter caught card winner. Caroline was caught "helping clean up the lunch cards that Mrs. Hersberger accidentally dropped on the floor". Caroline won 25 Pride Punch Cards. Caroline can use these to shop in our Willard PRIDE Store. Thanks for being awesome Caroline.
